Category I

SUPPLIER INSURANCE COMPLIANCE:CATEGORY I

Required Insurance Coverage – Category I Suppliers
General Liability
  • $2,000,000 Each Occurrence
  • $2,000,000 Products & Completed Operations
  • $4,000,000 Annual Aggregate

Certificate should include Contractual Liability, Personal Injury and Property Damage.

*An excess or umbrella policy is acceptable to broaden existing primary limits to increase them sufficiently to meet requirements.

 

General Requirements for All Insurance
A Certificate Holder should read:

McLane Company, Inc., its parent and all subsidiaries, affiliates and divisions
4747 McLane Parkway
Temple, Texas 76504
B McLane Company, Inc., its parent and all subsidiaries, affiliates and divisions are named as Additional Insureds.
C All insurance must be on an Occurrence basis.
D All insurance carriers must have and maintain an AM Best rating of A or higher.
E Original certificate of insurance (ACORD Form) must be delivered to McLane prior to McLane paying for any purchases from Supplier.

  • Automotive accessories
  • Baby food
  • Beverages: bottled water, Sodas and Juices (excluding health drinks, dietary or herbs items)
  • Cakes
  • Cameras- disposable battery operated
  • Candy
  • Cereals
  • Chips
  • Coffee
  • Confectionery, cookies, crackers, bread, pastries
  • Detergents (household)
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Foods (excluding meat, fresh produce, fruit or herbs of any kind, infant food/drink, and health foods)
  • Fresh flowers
  • Frozen dinners/entrees, breads, dinner rolls
  • Gift Cards
  • Gloves: fashion, gardening and working gloves (excluding protective and medical)
  • Gum, breath fresheners
  • Hair accessories
  • Hats and caps
  • Holiday novelty items (non-electric)
  • Jams, jellies
  • Key chains
  • Light bulbs
  • Nuts
  • Non-Dairy Milk Substitute (non-refrigerated)
  • Office supplies
  • Paper products, napkins, cups, plates
  • Personal care products – deodorants, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.
  • Pet supplies- such as pet apparel, pet food, pet accessories, and pet chews
  • Protein: Bars, Drinks
  • Razors
  • Salves (non–invasive topical) such as Neosporin
  • Sunglasses
  • Super Glue
  • Toys- non-electric and no-rechargeable
  • Trail and party mixes
  • Vitamin Water, such as Gatorade, Powerade, etc.

Category II

SUPPLIER INSURANCE COMPLIANCE:CATEGORY II

Required Insurance Coverage – Category II Suppliers
General Liability
  • $5,000,000 Each Occurrence
  • $5,000,000 Products & Completed Operations
  • $10,000,000 Annual Aggregate

Certificate should include Contractual Liability, Personal Injury and Property Damage.

*An excess or umbrella policy is acceptable to broaden existing primary limits to increase them sufficiently to meet requirements.

A Certificate Holder should read:

Category II ($5,000,000 limits)

  • Alcohol/ Spirits
  • Aerosols (any product that contains a compressed gas or propellant)
  • Batteries (all batteries and any product that contains a battery of any kind)
  • Butter/Margarine
  • Candles
  • Charcoal
  • Cheese
  • Chemicals: such as pesticides, degreasers, cleaning chemicals
  • Contact solutions
  • Containers intended to hold fuels, oils, coolant
  • Contraception: foams, films and spermicides
  • Dietary supplements
  • Eggs
  • Electronics (any product that contains a circuit board)
  • Energy: bars, drinks, pills, shots
  • Equipment sold with chemicals (vaporizer sold with medication, air fresheners, gel shoe inserts)
  • Fuel additives
  • Hazardous materials
  • Hemp
  • Herbal Products
  • Ice cream
  • Infant Formula
  • Insecticides
  • Lighters, Matches
  • Lip: balm, creams and petroleum jelly, etc.
  • Liquids: cough medicine, ear drops, eye drops, inhalers, nasal spray, shampoo, soap)
  • Meats: beef, lamb, pork, poultry, seafood, etc.
  • Medical Test: pregnancy, COVID-19, etc.
  • Medicated: bandages, creams (to include suntan lotion), ointments, salves, shampoos, swabs, wipes
  • Medicine: ingested products (over the counter) including lozenges, pills/capsules (pain reliever, water pills, etc.)
  • Milk
  • Non-Dairy Milk Substitute (refrigerated)
  • Oil, chemicals, coolant, and any fuels
  • Other Tobacco products (Cigars, Cigarettes, Chewable)
  • Patches (heated and/or medicated)
  • Pesticides
  • Produce, fresh
  • Propane
  • Vitamin drinks
  • Vitamins
  • Yogurt

Category III

SUPPLIER INSURANCE COMPLIANCE:CATEGORY III

Required Insurance Coverage – Category III Suppliers
General Liability
  • $5,000,000 Each Occurrence
  • $10,000,000 Products & Completed Operations
  • $10,000,000 Annual Aggregate

Certificate should include Contractual Liability, Personal Injury and Property Damage.

*An excess or umbrella policy is acceptable to broaden existing primary limits to increase them sufficiently to meet requirements.

*If insurance is claims made, Supplier agrees to maintain McLane’s Category III Coverage throughout the term of the Supplier Agreement between Supplier and McLane and for a period of four (4) years from the date of termination of such Supplier Agreement.
D All insurance carriers must have and maintain an AM Best rating of A or higher.
E Original certificate of insurance (ACORD Form) must be delivered to McLane prior to McLane paying for any purchases from Supplier.

  • Vape Products

Category IV

SUPPLIER INSURANCE COMPLIANCE:CATEGORY IV

Required Insurance Coverage – Category IV Suppliers
General Liability
  • $5,000,000 Each Occurence
  • $5,000,000 Products & Completed Operations
  • $10,000,000 Annual Aggregate

Certificate should include Contractual Liability, Personal Injury and Property Damage.

*An excess or umbrella policy is acceptable to broaden existing primary limits to increase them sufficiently to meet requirements.
