McLane Teammates Rally to Donate Water for Tornado Relief

In late March, powerful tornados caused widespread damage and injuries across Mississippi and Alabama. McLane Southern partnered with the American Trucking Associations to donate and deliver 900 cases of water to help relief efforts in Armory, Mississippi.

McLane has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts to our communities during natural disasters and emergencies. When the ATA called and asked McLane to help, the team got to work.

Sandy Dussetschleger is an expeditor in the inventory control team at McLane Southern and she explained the existing process that allowed the team quickly to identify and prepare items for the donation. Within four short days from the initial request, the team coordinated, inventoried, selected, and loaded the water to be delivered by the ATA to the impacted areas.

“When there is a need and someone like the Red Cross reaches out to us, we work with the team to put together a truck of merchandise that can be used by the community in need,” Dussetschleger said. It’s one of the things that makes me proud to work for McLane.”

The donation was made possible by tremendous collaboration with McLane’s Government Affairs, Merchandising, Sales, and Southern division teammates. Thank you to everyone who helped us support a community in need.
