McLane Suneast originated in 1985 in Lakeland, Florida when it purchased the Florida convenience store business from Fleming Foods. In 1986, the division moved to its current facility in Kissimmee, Florida.
The population growth in the state of Florida and the phenomenal growth of business are reflected in the fact that Suneast has undergone four major expansions, now totaling approximately 600,000 square feet. We deliver to over 3,000 convenience and other specialty stores each week throughout the state of Florida.
McLane Suneast has established itself as one of the premier employers in the Kissimmee/Orlando area and proudly reflects the unique diversity of the central Florida region. We attribute our success to the outstanding relationships cultivated between our valued business partners and our 1,000 high-spirited, hard-working teammates.
McLane Suneast is well known throughout the central Florida area for its charitable contributions and has been recognized for donating in excess of $100,000 to both Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® and Heart of Florida United Way.
In 2000, McLane Suneast was inducted into central Florida’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® Hall of Fame as a result of donating $140,000 to Shands and Arnold Palmer Children's hospitals. This amount continues to grow each year through division activities and the outstanding support of our vendor community. In 2001, the division received the United Way Chairman’s Award for surpassing the $100,000 mark. Suneast truly personifies the “Heart of Florida” in that its United Way donations come 100% from teammate pledges.
In addition, the division supports and sponsors numerous academic, athletic and recreational activities for children throughout a four-county area.
Along with its philanthropic endeavors, McLane Suneast is actively involved in the Chamber of Commerce and several other local civic organizations.
